Gemma Santi and Francesca Gentile are Shahab in Motion

In Somali language Shahab means flash, light in movement. Shahab in Motion is an artistic encounter between the two film makers Francesca Gentile and Gemma Santi, sharing the willing of telling the complexity of human existence through the documentary.

Gemma Santi was born in Turin in 1965. In 1993 began to work like camera operator for broadcast TV. Meanwhile she trains as editor too and since 2005 she signs some shorts movies, videoart clips and documentaries. She takes part to BAM – Biennale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea del Piemonte with a short, “Punto di vista“. “La scia dei monologhi” is part of the australian filmfestival 300 seconds 10 best shorts dvd. She worked with Rai News 24 realising some short reportages. In 2009 she signed “I facinorosi”, a film about a year in the student movement Onda Anomala and their protests against the last Italian school amendment.
